Network Engineer
Build the replication and server mesh that lets thousands of players share one persistent Night Dragon world without feeling each other's lag.
Applications are reviewed weekly.
About the role
Night Dragon is a server-authoritative online world with territory, combat, and a simulation that keeps running when nobody is looking. You will join the online technology group to scale the systems behind it.
What you'll do
- Design and implement replication, prediction, and interest-management systems.
- Profile and reduce bandwidth and latency across large-scale combat scenarios.
- Work with gameplay engineers to make networked mechanics feel responsive and fair.
- Operate and improve the live server mesh used by Horizon RP and Night Dragon tests.
- Build observability and load-testing tools for multiplayer scenarios.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of professional networked game or distributed systems experience.
- Strong C++ or Rust, and a solid understanding of UDP, serialization, and state sync.
- Experience shipping and operating a live multiplayer product.
- Comfort with profiling and debugging across client and server.
Nice to have
- Experience with deterministic simulation or rollback.
- Kubernetes or large-scale fleet operations experience.
- Open-world or MMO-scale experience.
