Project 夜龙: the first reveal

A red moon. A dying empire. A dragon with no name. After three years of silence, we are finally showing you what we have been building.

For the last three years, a small room on the fourth floor of our Arts District studio has been known as the Dragon Room. The blinds stay down. The build is watermarked. The whiteboard gets erased before anyone from the RP team walks past. Today, the door is open.

Project 夜龙 — Night Dragon — is our first fully in-house game. It is a large-scale online action RPG set in the final years of a forgotten empire, built from the ground up on VxEngine. It will enter alpha playtesting in 2027 and launch on PC in 2027.

A world at the end of its rope

The empire has lasted three hundred years on a single promise: the wall will hold. It does not. Beyond the Black Gate, the red moon is rising, the dead are not staying dead, and the dragon that the empire built its religion around has returned without a name of its own.

You are not the chosen one. You are not even the protagonist of the empire's story. You are one of the people who has to live through the end of it — and decide what gets carried into whatever comes next.

The Ashen Capital at night beneath a red moon
The Ashen Capital, as it appears in the current build. The red moon is a world state, not a skybox.
“We wanted to make a world where the apocalypse is not a weather event. It is a political one. It happens slowly, and everybody has a different idea about who is to blame.”

That idea shapes everything. Cities stay standing. Markets still open. People still get married, argue about taxes, and bury their parents. The end of the world is not empty — it is crowded.

Built for scale, not spectacle

Night Dragon is a persistent online world. Thousands of players share the same continent, with territory, trade, and conflict simulated by a server authority designed for long-term consequences rather than a single match.

VxEngine is the reason any of it is possible. Its streaming, networking, and real-time lighting systems let us build a world that stays coherent at distance and at speed. The red moon is not a skybox trick. Its light moves through the world, and the world responds.

The Battle of the Ashfields
The Ashfields. Territory wars will be fought here — and the ground will remember who held it.

We will have much more to say about the game's systems, regions, and paths in the months ahead. For now, we want to introduce the promise:

  • A world that remembers. Territory, relationships, and grudges persist across sessions and seasons.
  • Combat with weight. Every swing, dodge, and decision costs something. There are no rotation buttons.
  • Stories at scale. Hundreds of authored arcs, wrapped around a simulation that gives them room to breathe.

2027

Alpha playtests begin in 2027, followed by launch later that year. Alpha access will be limited, invitation-based, and focused on one thing: making the game better. We are not running a marketing beta. We are inviting people in to break the world before the world breaks on launch day.

You can register your interest now. We will be sharing the first gameplay footage, the first region deep-dive, and a proper development diary in the coming weeks. The moon is already rising.
